Also spotted were members of the cast of The Real Housewives of New York: Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen, Jill and Bobby Zarin, Ramona and Mario Singer, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, and Kelly Killoren Bensimon and America’s Next Top Model and True Beauty’s Nolé Marin.

This summer’s matches promise to be some of the most exciting in the sport of polo. The sport’s greatest athletes will compete for one of polo’s most treasured prizes. Returning as well will be some of the East End’s most high-profile and influential audience of VIPs, celebrities and media.

The season commenced on Saturday, July 18th and will continue for six consecutive Saturdays, concluding August 22nd. White Birch (12) defeated CT/Heathecote (9) on Saturday, July 25, 2009.

Season partners include: Mercedes-Benz, Piaget, Blue Star Jets, Coca-Cola, Stoli Elit, Riva Yachts, Diamond Teak, Rose’s Mojito Cocktail Mix and OPTYX by gruen.

Luxury Swiss watch maker, Piaget, was the proud sponsor of this week’s match. The company has had a long history with the sport of polo and 2009 actually marks the 30th anniversary of the legendary Piaget Polo timepiece. Polo Ralph Lauren will return this summer as the exclusive apparel retailer with an onsite shop at the Bridgehampton Polo matches. Evocative of the spirit and heritage of Polo, the shop will feature Ralph Lauren’s Black Watch collection and The World of Polo Fragrance. Spectators visiting the Ralph Lauren shop will have a great view of the polo matches and be able to enter to win a Polo lesson with Black Watch team member Nacho Figueras. Polo Ralph Lauren became an official sponsor of the Black Watch Polo team in 2007, providing apparel created exclusively for the polo players.

A portion of proceeds from the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge will go to South Fork Breast Cancer Coalition. The VIP tent will host an invitation-only cocktail reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during the tournament. Matches will take place from 4PM to 6PM.
