America’s favorite backside is no longer dating America’s favorite football player. Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush are kaput.

As for reasons, Kim did not want to give up her “career” for more time with Reggie. A friend of Kim’s told OK! magazine: “They have different schedules, they never got to see each other. Kim didn’t want to give up her career for Reggie and they both care deeply about each other.”

Now wait just a second. Career? If Reggie’s career was too much, I’d understand. The man plays in the NFL, perhaps the most grueling amd physically demanding league in the world. But Kim’s career? What is that exactly? Walking down Beverly Hills in tight jeans so that TMZ can snap some shots?

Love can be a beautiful thing, but when it gets trampled by empty pursuits, one will be left with a heartful of nothing.
