Presented by the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center, The Graduate Center, CUNY, the sixth-annual Prelude Festival celebrates the explorers and visionaries of NYC’s theatre and performance scene.

Now in it’s sixth year, PRELUDE 09 examines the evolving relationship of Art and Culture through the lens of contemporary theatre and performance. From Wednesday, September 30 through Saturday, October 3, dozens of performances, conversations, and symposia will take place at The Martin E. Segal Theatre. The completely free festival gives audiences an sneak peek at some of the most exciting performances and discussions of the 2009/10 season and beyond. Join us as we celebrate NYC’s most dynamic artists and visionaries, and investigate how is performance affected by the culture at large.
