b michael presented as part of New York Fashion Week in a salon at the auction house Christies. The objective was to create a departure from the typical frenzy of fashion week and show the collection intimately to an invite only audience. Guests enjoyed Paul Goerg Champagne as four models to the music of Mozart walked the salon runway showing the made to order collection for Spring 2010. The first look set the tone of lady like, politely sexy, clothes; fitted dress with an open neckline in rose pink and coral, all under a wide brimmed sheer pink hat crowned with fresh deep pink roses, created by the floral studio of the Daily Blossom. Clients in the audience debated which one of them would place their orders first for next year’s Central Park Conservancy Luncheon. The day dresses of sheathes and full sweeps were fresh in linen and silk gazare. An empire sheath in vintage silk tissue weight canvas featured a toile pattern in pale blue on ecru was a highlight. b michael favored fitted torsos opening to an almost “A-Line” sweep for the cocktail dresses in double-faced silk-wool. An azalea Italian jersey dress with a curved neckline and wrap was another statement that was all about the ease of elegant sexy clothes that are meant to go from day to evening. the finale` gown’s fitted bodice, torso and column opening to a trumpet hemline was built with 72 individual pattern pieces taking two sample makers in the atelier 3 full days to cut and sew, showcases b michael’s approach to advanced American couture. The beauty look was modern glamour. The hair, created by Melissa Leach, stylist for AVEDA and the make - up was created by Heidi Evora-Santiago for Damone Roberts New York. Jewels provided by Gregory Gilin and hand bags by Clara Kasavina.
